About

The word “Unicorn” was first coined by Aileen Lee, founder of Cowboy Ventures, in a TechCrunch article published in 2013. Since then, it has become THE BUZZWORD among start-up founders and investors. Over the last 7 years, we have witnessed some successful unicorn IPOs but also numerous lack-lustre ones. We came to learn that unicorns can fail and crash too. However, the word never fades in popular imagination. It still stands to represent the ultimate pursuit of many today.

BEYOND UNICORN is created as an open experiment to challenge ourselves to go beyond unicorn in awareness, thinking and aspiration. Through in-depth conversations with founders and investors shaping the business of tomorrow, we hope to highlight valuable companies outside of the unicorn club, deep-dive into value drivers that give rise to unicorns and what future lies for newly admitted unicorns.

The PodCast is created with tailored contents focused on Institutional and Accredited Investors. It is conducted in English with transcript available in both English and Chinese.
